August 1st, 2002- The Baja Bash concert at Salsipuedes, Mexico, was awesome as usual. Thanks to all the fans and friends that came, and to Pat Murphy, Ace, and everyone at Promised Land Productions for having us again! Grundy will be taking a Hiatus in the next couple of months to concentrate on their personal lives.... Congrats to Mark and Tammy on their wedding and Mike and Jaimarie on the next little Manzer waiting to be born. June 9th, 2002- Solomon Grundy will be playing the upcoming shows (HB Pier, Baja Bash, and Back Alley) with former drummer Mike Manzer. Come on out and see summer shows! May 4th, 2002- Well, we were GOING TO take a break from playing shows for a month but it turns out we just couldn't resist slipping in an opening slot for Mike Clark, who we are all big fans of... Mike has played with Herbie Hancock's Headhunters and Bobby McFerrin, just to name a few. Baja Bash is coming up as well... if you have never been to one, you MUST go! It is a music and camping festival in a beautiful, secluded campground on a cliff overlooking the ocean in Mexico. Need I say more? Other shows are on their way and we are in the midst of going through recordings of shows to put together a live CD. See you soon! April 24th, 2002- The Solomon Grundy Spring 2002 Steamroller Tour is just about over but the memories linger. Much traveling was done and many new friends made. Thanks again (as always) to our ever-energetic Road Manager, Tony Donofrio, and to our secret weapon PR man, Bernard G. for co-conspiring in the chaos. We had some special friends sit in with us at a few gigs that really sent it all over the edge. DJ Samira at Jupiter in Berkeley (We love you, Sam) laid down some Trance beats and Bernard aka "Barely White" whood the girls and got the masses moving in Berkeley, Steamboat Springs, Salt Lake City, and Keeeyyyyyyyyyssssstttoooooonnnnnnnne!!!! We are going to take a break for a little bit after these next two shows to work on new tunes and see what we have "in the can" for a live release. See you soon! April 1st , 2002- "Thanks to everyone who came out to the Galaxy Show on the 29th, we had a blast and the show was great. Thank you to Jason Robinson from Spinside and Wise Monkey Orchestra for sitting in on sax and flute.... you tore it up, Jay!" Grundy also invited Bryan "Sexual Chocolate Pony" and Chad from Thalamus Flynt for a rip-roaring rendition of Pink Floyd's Money with everybody taking turns on the solos. Says Mark from SG - "We rehearsed it once the night before and never really discussed how we were going to end it, so we just went into a Disco". March 5th, 2002- After a successful tour of Arizona, as well as shows in Los Angeles and San Diego, Solomon Grundy is returning to OC to headline the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana with Thalamus Flynt and special guests on Friday, March 29th. February 19th, 2002- SG will be finishing their Arizona tour this weekend in Flagstaff and Phoenix. The band had a blast in Tempe and Tucson and met a lot of great people! Thanks to all of you who came out, danced, and had a great time. We will definately be back! January 24th, 2002- Grundy will be finishing off their Winter Tour (which includes California, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah) at the Back Alley in Fullerton, CA. Be sure to check out SG with their newest member, Dave Staples, on bass. Grundy will have a couple weeks off before they hit Arizona for a two week stint which will include Tucson, Tempe, Flagstaff, and Phoenix. November 5th- We just got back home from our slew of shows up in the Bay area. Much fun was had- thanks to Tami, Catherine, Sam, and Brian for the hospitality! I have to say we were surprised at how little traffic there was driving over the Bay Bridge at rush hour.... October 27th-Thanks to all our fans, friends, and family that came out to the Mint for the show. The band will be hitting the bay area for a string of shows and then be back on Grundy home turf for a couple shows in November. August 20th- Grundy appeared on Radio Free World, an online radio show hosted by Joe Latimer last night. The band answered questions and played studio and live cuts from various time periods in the band's lifespan. Thanks to Joe and all of the friendly and talented people of Idyllwild for being such gracious hosts. July 24th, 2001- Thanks to Rudy and the Las Vegas Jamband Society for promoting the Grundy show at Legend's Lounge in Vegas on the 21st. The band played a great show and we are going to try to make some of it available to you via the Multimedia page! Keep checking back! July 1st, 2001- Last night, the band played a smokin' show at the Galaxy Theatre in hometown OC. Thanks to all our friends and family for coming out!
